Job Summary Homeland Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading healthcare organization to hire an experienced Tax Manager to support a complex, multi-entity healthcare system. The Tax Manager will oversee tax functions across multiple system entities, managing federal, state, and local tax compliance while contributing to tax research, regulatory analysis, process improvement, and strategic financial decision-making.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with organizational leadership on complex tax matters and initiatives impacting the broader healthcare system. The Tax Manager position offers a hybrid work arrangement with some onsite presence required, along with potential relocation assistance for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Coordinate tax functions and required tax filings across multiple healthcare system entities
Support federal tax matters involving for-profit entities, tax-exempt organizations, and benefit plans
Manage and coordinate state tax matters, including franchise and excise tax, sales tax, and business tax
Oversee local tax matters, including property tax compliance
Conduct complex tax research and monitor regulatory developments and legislative changes affecting the organization
Interpret regulatory changes and translate them into appropriate operational, compliance, and reporting practices
Communicate significant tax developments, regulatory changes, and potential impacts to organizational leadership
Coordinate internal and external tax reviews and audits, including scheduling, documentation, interviews, responses, and implementation of resulting recommendations
Review work performed by tax staff and provide constructive feedback, guidance, and professional development
Partner with department leadership on annual work planning, staff development, performance evaluations, retention, and training initiatives
Participate in organizational and entity restructuring initiatives involving both tax-exempt and for-profit operations
Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning, process improvements, and innovative approaches to tax management
Develop and implement tools, systems, and processes to improve tax data collection, analysis, reporting, and operational efficiency
Establish short- and long-term plans that support departmental priorities, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement
Serve as a backup to the department Director as needed
Requirements
Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance OR an active CPA license, plus relevant experience; OR 15 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree or CPA license
Minimum of 8 years of related experience
Extensive knowledge of healthcare-related financial accounting principles
Strong knowledge of tax compliance, research, reporting, and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting established deadlines
Ability to process, analyze, and organize large quantities of financial and tax-related data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with organizational leadership, staff, and regulatory authorities
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-development skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Benefits This role offers a competitive base salary of $103,000–$120,400, based on experience, a comprehensive benefits package, and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
