Job Summary
Homeland Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading healthcare organization in East Tennessee to hire an experienced Education Coordinator – Nursing to support a growing medical oncology program. This newly created, highly visible Education Coordinator role is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about clinical education, nursing professional development, onboarding, competency development, and advancing clinical practice.

The Education Coordinator will partner closely with nursing leadership and clinical teams across multiple oncology and infusion locations to strengthen onboarding and orientation, develop education and competencies, support policy and procedure improvements, and help implement best practices across the program.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RN seeking to expand their impact beyond direct bedside care while remaining closely connected to nursing practice and patient care.


Responsibilities
  • Lead and support orientation and onboarding for new patient care employees across the medical oncology program
  • Develop and deliver ongoing clinical education, in-services, written educational materials, and skills labs for nursing and patient care teams
  • Partner with oncology nursing leadership to implement best practices, clinical updates, policies, procedures, and competency standards across multiple locations
  • Develop, review, and update nursing policies, procedures, documentation tools, educational materials, and clinical resources
  • Support the professional development and competency assessment of nursing and patient care staff
  • Provide one-on-one clinical and professional support to employees as needed
  • Maintain accurate records related to employee education, orientation, competencies, and in-service requirements
  • Develop and maintain educational resources for staff and patients
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and organizational education requirements
  • Serve as a patient and staff advocate while promoting consistent clinical practices across the oncology program
  • Collaborate with nursing managers and clinical leaders across multiple locations as this newly created position continues to evolve


Requirements
  • Current Tennessee RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Experience or strong interest in nursing education, staff development, employee orientation, competency development, or clinical leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate, engage, and support clinical teams
  • Comfort delivering education through classroom instruction, one-on-one coaching, written resources, skills-based learning, and other educational formats
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to coordinate priorities across multiple locations and clinical teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Teams, Excel, and other common Microsoft applications
  • A lifelong learner who embraces change and demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated commitment to patient and staff advocacy
  • Comfort stepping into a newly created role where responsibilities, priorities, and opportunities may evolve as the medical oncology program continues to grow


Additional Information
The Education Coordinator will support medical oncology and infusion teams across a growing regional program throughout East Tennessee, with locations including: Downtown Knoxville, West Knoxville, Morristown, Sevierville, Lenoir City, and Oak Ridge. The role will have a primary office location, likely in the Dowell Springs/Proton Center area or Downtown Knoxville, with travel between supported locations as needed.


Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary of $79,040–$89,440 annually.
