Job Summary Homeland Talent Solutions is partnering with a global engineering and technology organization to hire a Structural Designer to support a growing Structural Engineering team. The Structural Designer will contribute to complex industrial, R&D, testing, and mission-critical facility projects, working closely with Structural Engineers to develop Revit-based structural models, drawings, and construction documents for unique and highly engineered environments. The ideal Structural Designer will have 3+ years of relevant design experience, strong hands-on Revit skills, and experience in structural, A&E, industrial, building, or similarly complex engineering environments.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain accurate Revit-based structural BIM models and construction drawings
Collaborate with Structural Engineers to translate design intent, engineering requirements, sketches, calculations, and redlines into detailed models and drawings
Create structural models and drawings for steel framing, platforms, equipment supports, foundations, concrete interfaces, and related structural systems
Support projects from initial design through construction-document development
Coordinate structural models and drawings with other engineering disciplines to ensure design consistency and accuracy
Identify and assist in resolving design, modeling, and coordination issues
Apply established engineering standards, drawing conventions, and quality-control procedures
Support complex industrial, R&D, testing, and specialized facility projects
Take increasing ownership of assigned project work as familiarity with team processes and standards develops
Work closely with engineers, designers, and project team members throughout project execution
Requirements
3+ years of relevant structural design/drafting experience
Strong professional Revit experience is required
Experience using Revit for BIM modeling and production drawing development
Experience developing or supporting structural engineering/construction drawings
Working knowledge of structural systems and construction documentation
Ability to interpret engineering direction, sketches, calculations, and redlines and translate them into accurate models and drawings
Ability to effectively collaborate with Structural Engineers and other technical disciplines
Strong attention to detail and ability to work within established design and quality standards
US citizenship required
Experience within an A&E, EPC, structural engineering, heavy-industrial, construction, or facility-design environment, preferred
Experience with steel framing, platforms, equipment support structures, pipe supports/racks, foundations, concrete structures, or similar systems, preferred
Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, process, energy, federal/defense, or other highly engineered facilities, preferred
Ability to take ownership of structural models and drawing packages while working directly with engineering teams, preferred
Familiarity with structural design standards such as AISC, ACI, and IBC, preferred
Experience coordinating BIM models across multiple engineering disciplines, preferred
Autodesk Inventor experience is a plus
Creo experience is a plus
Existing government/security clearance is beneficial but not required
Additional Information Location & Work Arrangement: Remote or hybrid flexibility is available during the initial contract-to-hire period, with candidates expected to align with core Central/Eastern U.S. working hours. Upon conversion to full-time, an onsite/hybrid presence will be expected in Tullahoma, TN (strongly preferred), Farmington Hills, MI, or Greenville, SC, based on candidate preference and business needs. Reasonable relocation transition time may be considered for the right candidate. Schedule: Standard 40-hour work week consisting of four 9-hour days and a half-day on Friday. Overtime may be available or required periodically based on current and future project demands.
Benefits Compensation is based on experience and technical background, ranging from $30.29-$48.08/hour.
