Job Summary
Homeland has partnered with a respected community hospital to hire a Clinical Staff Pharmacist. We are seeking a highly motivated, clinically confident, and patient-focused Clinical Staff Pharmacist who thrives in an autonomous, fast-paced hospital environment.

As a Clinical Staff Pharmacist, you will play an important role in optimizing medication therapy through independent clinical decision-making, evidence-based practice, and the effective use of computerized pharmacy systems. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to promote the safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of medications while providing clinical consultation, patient education, and operational support. The ideal Clinical Staff Pharmacist will bring strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to make sound therapeutic decisions in a collaborative hospital setting. Responsibilities
  • Deliver pharmacy services and provide clinical leadership aligned with the hospital's mission, values, and quality standards
  • Review, verify, and process medication orders using established protocols and computerized systems
  • Independently assess medication therapies and exercise sound clinical judgment to optimize patient outcomes
  • Perform clinical interventions including renal dose adjustments, vancomycin dosing, IV-to-oral conversions, anticoagulation management, and other evidence-based pharmacotherapy recommendations
  • Provide expert consultation and education to patients, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians regarding appropriate medication therapy
  • Execute clinical functions that support pharmacy programs while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Contribute to the department's Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives, including data collection, process evaluation, and performance improvement efforts
  • Support the daily workflow of pharmacy technicians and clerical staff to maximize productivity and ensure compliance
  • Step into departmental leadership responsibilities as needed in the absence of the Lead Clinical Pharmacist or Director of Pharmacy
  • Participate in interviewing, training, mentoring, and onboarding of new pharmacy department staff
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide age-appropriate pharmaceutical care for diverse patient populations
  • Maintain current clinical knowledge through continuing education, professional affiliations, and relevant training
  • Attend department, hospital, and interdisciplinary meetings as assigned
  • Perform additional related duties as required

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
  • Current or eligible North Carolina State Pharmacist License required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates will be considered
  • PGY1 or PGY2 residency-trained pharmacists are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Critical care experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills to deliver age-specific pharmaceutical care
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to make independent therapeutic recommendations in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment


Additional Information
2 Full-Time Pharmacist Openings:
Night Shift Pharmacist: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM 
Second Shift Pharmacist: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM  
Both positions work four 10-hour shifts per week

Benefits
The Clinical Staff Pharmacist position offers a competitive annual salary of $155,000–$180,000, depending on experience, along with a sign-on bonus, comprehensive benefits, retirement plan, and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
