Job Summary Homeland Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading integrated healthcare system to identify an experienced Vice President & Controller. The Vice President & Controller provides executive leadership for enterprise accounting and financial operations across a complex, multi-entity healthcare organization. Reporting to senior financial leadership, this executive is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, fixed assets, accounts payable, payroll, tax, reimbursement, audit coordination, and financial governance.
The Vice President & Controller ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintains a strong internal control environment, supports regulatory compliance, and partners with executive leadership to drive the organization's long-term financial strategy. Our client is a highly respected, integrated healthcare system serving multiple communities through acute care hospitals, physician practices, outpatient services, behavioral health, home health, hospice, and specialty care.

Responsibilities
Provide executive leadership and oversight for enterprise accounting and finance operations across a complex, multi-entity healthcare system
Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing accounting leaders through succession planning, coaching, and performance management
Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning, financial governance, and long-term financial stewardship
Represent the finance organization on enterprise-wide initiatives and cross-functional leadership teams
Direct all enterprise accounting operations in accordance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards
Oversee the monthly close process, general ledger integrity, account reconciliations, and consolidated financial reporting
Ensure the timely preparation and delivery of executive financial reports and all required external financial reporting
Coordinate annual external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings and recommendations
Provide executive leadership for technical accounting matters, accounting policy, and complex financial transactions
Oversee accounts payable and payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure adherence to organizational policies and financial governance standards
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of financial transactions across the organization
Oversee tax compliance, healthcare reimbursement, and cost reporting activities
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and payer regulations while monitoring regulatory changes and implementing necessary organizational responses
Lead the optimization and continuous improvement of ERP and financial systems to enhance operational performance
Drive finance transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, reporting capabilities, standardization, and overall operational effectiveness
Champion continuous process improvement initiatives across all accounting and financial operations
Build and sustain a high-performing, collaborative accounting organization focused on accountability, service excellence, and continuous development
Lead complex enterprise initiatives and perform other executive leadership responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in accounting or finance
Current leadership experience within healthcare accounting or finance is required
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, financial compliance, and regulatory requirements
Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and manage complex accounting operations in a large, multi-entity organization
Current or recent experience serving as a Controller within a healthcare organization, preferred
Experience supporting a multi-hospital health system or integrated healthcare delivery network, preferred
Executive leadership experience managing large accounting and finance teams, preferred
Experience leading ERP implementations, financial systems optimization, and finance transformation initiatives, preferred
Proven success partnering with executive leadership to drive strategic financial initiatives and organizational performance, preferred
Benefits This executive opportunity offers a competitive annual base salary of $200,000–$300,000, based on experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive executive benefits package.
