No prior experience in business taxation? No problem. You'll receive comprehensive training in business taxation with a focus on tangible personal property, learning how state-specific tax laws are applied in real-world business environments. As an Entry Level Accounting Specialist, you'll also participate in audits that provide valuable travel opportunities while expanding your accounting knowledge and professional experience.
Responsibilities
Perform full cost reconciliations on tangible personal property tax listings filed with state and local tax departments
Conduct audits of various businesses across multiple jurisdictions in the United States
Travel locally and out-of-state, with some overnight travel required
Interact regularly with taxpayers in person, via email, and over the phone
Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting
Requirements
2–4 years of accounting experience
Four-year degree preferred in Accounting or Business Administration
Proficiency in Excel and Word
Excellent communication and public relations skills for daily interactions with businesses and government clients
Flexibility regarding travel is required
Property Tax experience is strongly preferred
Additional Information This position offers a salary of $40,000–$45,000, depending on experience.
