As the organization continues to expand its impact within the grocery sector, we are seeking an experienced Director – Grocery Price and Promotion to lead strategic pricing and promotional initiatives across a diverse portfolio of grocery categories. The Director – Grocery Price and Promotion will serve as a trusted advisor to retail and supplier partners, helping develop and implement pricing, promotional, and category strategies that improve sales, profitability, market share, and customer loyalty. The ideal candidate combines deep grocery merchandising expertise with strong analytical capabilities and practical experience leveraging data to support business decisions. This highly visible Director – Grocery Price and Promotion role offers the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making, collaborate with executive stakeholders, and help shape pricing and promotional strategies for some of the grocery industry's most recognized retailers and consumer brands.


Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic pricing and promotional initiatives across grocery retail categories to improve sales, profitability, market share, and customer loyalty
  • Develop recommendations related to everyday pricing, promotional planning, promotional effectiveness, and category performance optimization
  • Analyze sales, margin, customer, market, and competitive data to identify opportunities and support business decisions
  • Evaluate promotional performance and pricing strategies, providing actionable insights to improve return on investment and customer engagement
  • Partner with retailer stakeholders to align pricing and promotional programs with overall merchandising and category objectives
  • Leverage customer analytics, shopper insights, and loyalty data to support strategic decision-making
  • Support the development and implementation of pricing and promotion optimization frameworks, processes, and best practices
  • Collaborate with merchandising, category management, marketing, operations, analytics, and executive leadership teams
  • Present findings, recommendations, and strategic business cases to senior leadership and client stakeholders
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, consumer behavior, and emerging technologies related to pricing and promotions

Requirements
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in grocery retail, merchandising, category management, pricing, promotions, revenue management, or related analytical functions
  • Deep expertise in grocery pricing strategy, promotional planning, category management, and retail analytics
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between pricing, promotions, customer behavior, and category performance
  • Experience utilizing customer analytics, shopper insights, loyalty data, and business intelligence tools to support decision-making
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build credibility across multiple levels of an organization
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience working with pricing optimization, promotion optimization, revenue management, or decision-support platforms, preferred
  • Advanced degree, preferred
  • Experience with large regional or national grocery retailers, preferred
  • Background in category management, merchandising strategy, retail consulting, revenue management, or advanced analytics, preferred
  • Experience evaluating and implementing pricing and promotion optimization technologies, preferred
  • Familiarity with customer loyalty programs, shopper marketing, and consumer behavior analytics, preferred
  • Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and executive-level presentations, preferred


Benefits
This position offers a competitive annual salary of $200,000-$250,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package.
