This Lead Software Engineer role sits at the center of a major transformation initiative focused on rebuilding a legacy reporting ecosystem into a next-generation, cloud-native platform powered by AI-assisted engineering workflows, modern architecture, and scalable data-driven systems. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will work on a highly visible initiative leveraging technologies such as Python, AWS Lambda, Snowflake, Jupyter Notebooks, serverless architectures, cloud data pipelines, and emerging AI-enabled development practices, ultimately helping shape a platform that will serve as the foundation for future innovation in compliance reporting and developer productivity.
Responsibilities
Design and develop the foundational framework that enables other engineers to build, scale, and innovate more efficiently
Build core reporting infrastructure and execution frameworks
Develop framework orchestration and service coordination components
Create AI-assisted development workflows and engineering automation tools
Build developer productivity platforms and internal engineering tooling
Design and implement cloud-native execution frameworks using AWS and Python
Support automation efforts for migrating and modernizing legacy business logic
Develop scalable data processing pipelines and integration services
Contribute to next-generation engineering experiences leveraging AI and analytics technologies
Participate as a senior technical contributor on a strategic modernization initiative
Review, validate, and influence platform architecture decisions
Partner with architects, product leaders, and engineering leadership to deliver platform capabilities
Establish engineering standards, best practices, and ensure high code quality
Mentor engineers and contribute to long-term platform strategy and evolution
Drive modernization and automation of complex legacy systems into a modern cloud architecture
Requirements
8+ years of software engineering experience in complex, production-scale environments
Strong expertise in Python development and modern software engineering practices
Hands-on experience with AWS architecture and cloud-native application development
Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems
Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and engineering best practices
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within complex, large-scale technical environments and cross-functional teams
Experience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data platforms, preferred
Experience developing solutions using Jupyter Notebooks, preferred
Experience building AI-assisted development tools, workflows, or automation systems, preferred
Exposure to agentic AI frameworks, orchestration patterns, or AI-driven engineering systems, preferred
Familiarity with LLM-based development workflows and applications, preferred
Background in data engineering, analytics platforms, or reporting systems, preferred
Experience with cloud modernization, system migration, or legacy platform transformation initiatives, preferred
Experience building internal developer platforms, tooling, or engineering productivity systems, preferred
Experience working within SaaS-based product environments, preferred
Benefits The role offers a competitive annual salary of $150,000-$170,000, based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
