Job Summary Homeland Talent Solutions is partnering with a respected acute care hospital organization in the Pacific Northwest to identify an experienced Medical Staff Coordinator for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This Medical Staff Coordinator role is essential to supporting the administrative, credentialing, privileging, and compliance functions of the organized medical staff within a fast-paced hospital environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong healthcare administrative experience, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven ability to coordinate physician credentialing, medical staff processes, and regulatory compliance activities. As a Medical Staff Coordinator, you will serve as a key liaison between hospital leadership, providers, physician committees, credentialing organizations, and regulatory agencies to ensure ongoing compliance with medical staff bylaws, accreditation standards, and state and federal requirements.
This opportunity is structured as a 6-month contract-to-hire engagement with strong potential for long-term permanent placement based on performance and organizational fit.
Responsibilities
Serve as a liaison between hospital administration, providers, and medical staff leadership to support effective communication and collaboration
Coordinate medical staff meetings, committees, CME activities, and related administrative functions
Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, reports, correspondence, and committee documentation
Maintain medical staff bylaws, policies, provider records, credentialing files, and physician databases
Support physician onboarding, orientation, and provider communication processes
Coordinate provider credentialing and privileging for initial appointments and reappointments
Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws, accreditation standards, Department of Health requirements, and regulatory guidelines
Track provider licenses, certifications, insurance, and other credentialing expirables
Process verification requests, peer review documentation, and re-credentialing activities
Coordinate insurance credentialing and communicate status updates with providers and leadership
Maintain online physician directories, clinical privilege records, and related provider documentation
Assist with departmental budgeting, bookkeeping activities, billing coordination, and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of advanced administrative experience in a healthcare environment
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Previous medical staff credentialing experience strongly preferred
Working knowledge of medical staff bylaws, peer review processes, physician credentialing, and privileging regulations
Familiarity with DNV accreditation standards and Department of Health requirements preferred
Highly organized, self-motivated, and process-oriented professional
Strong relationship-building skills with physicians, leadership, and staff
Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Professional, dependable, discreet, and customer service-focused
Ability to sit for extended periods, use computers and phones regularly, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
