Job Summary
Homeland has partnered with a respected and dynamic healthcare system to hire a dedicated and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist – Neurosurgery Service Line Coordinator for a high-acuity surgical environment in beautiful Hickory, NC.

This Certified Surgical Technologist role is ideal for an experienced surgical technologist who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is passionate about leading and supporting a specialized neurosurgery service line. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing surgical team while stepping into a leadership-focused position within the neurosurgery program.

As a Certified Surgical Technologist, you will work closely with neurosurgeons and clinical staff to support complex cases, improve workflows, and enhance overall surgical operations in a high-volume environment. In this role, the Certified Surgical Technologist will serve as both a clinical expert and operational lead for the neurosurgery service line. You will combine hands-on surgical technologist responsibilities with coordination efforts, process improvement initiatives, and strong collaboration with surgeons and leadership to drive efficiency and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations for the neurosurgery service line
  • Coordinate surgeon preferences, instrumentation needs, and case setup
  • Maintain and update preference cards and standard surgical workflows
  • Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons and clinical staff to support efficient operations
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new surgeons and team members within the service line
  • Monitor case flow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes
  • Perform scrub technologist duties during neurosurgical procedures


Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required
  • Strong neurosurgery experience required
  • Prior leadership or service line coordination experience preferred

Additional Information
  • 8- or 10-hour shifts available  6:30/6:45 AM – 3:30 PM and 6:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Flexible scheduling based on candidate preference
  • Call is required (approximately 14 shifts per 8-week schedule)
  • Call begins immediately following scheduled shifts
  • Includes weekday and weekend rotation, with weekend call required
  • 8-week rotating schedule provided for consistency and advance planning
