Job Summary Homeland has partnered with an esteemed and vibrant healthcare system to hire a dedicated and experienced Certified Surgical Technologist – Operating Room for a high-acuity surgical environment in beautiful Hickory, NC. This Certified Surgical Technologist role is ideal for an experienced surgical technologist who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is passionate about leading and supporting a specialized neurosurgery service line.
This is a unique opportunity for a to join a collaborative and high-performing surgical team while stepping into a leadership-focused position within the neurosurgery program. You will work closely with neurosurgeons and clinical staff to support complex surgical cases, optimize workflows, and enhance overall surgical operations in a high-volume environment.
As the Certified Surgical Technologist, you will serve as both the clinical and operational lead for the neurosurgery service line. This role blends hands-on surgical technologist responsibilities with coordination, process improvement, and close collaboration with surgeons and leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the neurosurgery service line
Coordinate surgeon preferences, instrumentation, and case setup for procedures
Maintain and update preference cards and surgical workflows
Collaborate with neurosurgeons and clinical staff to ensure efficient, high-quality operations
Support onboarding and orientation of new surgeons and staff within the service line
Monitor case flow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes
Perform Certified Surgical Technologist (scrub tech) duties during neurosurgical procedures
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Certification in Surgical Technology through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required
Strong experience in neurosurgery required
Demonstrated leadership or coordination experience preferred
Additional Information
8- and 10-hour shift options available
Typical shift times include 6:30/6:45 AM – 3:30 PM or 6:45 AM – 5:00 PM
Flexible scheduling options may be available based on candidate preference
Call is required, averaging approximately 14 shifts per 8-week schedule
Call begins at the end of the scheduled shift
Call coverage includes both weekday and weekend rotations
Weekend call is included as part of the standard rotation
