Homeland has partnered with an esteemed and vibrant healthcare system to hire a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an inpatient rehabilitation unit in beautiful Hickory, NC. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a hands-on, patient-focused environment and is passionate about supporting recovery and improving patient outcomes.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in inpatient rehabilitation, you will provide direct, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from a wide range of conditions. You will work closely with the RN and interdisciplinary care team to support clinical needs and guide patients through their rehabilitation journey. In this collaborative care environment, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a key role in patient recovery while contributing to a culture that values teamwork, adaptability, and strong patient engagement. You will be part of a supportive team dedicated to helping patients achieve meaningful progress and improved outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in assessing patient conditions and promptly report changes to the RN
  • Administer medications and perform treatments within scope of practice
  • Provide hands-on patient care, including activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility support, and hygiene assistance
  • Monitor, observe, and accurately document patient status and responses to care
  • Support patient participation in therapy and overall rehabilitation progression
  • Collaborate with RNs and therapy teams to ensure coordinated, effective care delivery
  • Educate patients and families on care routines, expectations, and recovery process

Requirements
  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina (or compact license, if applicable)
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
  • Current BLS certification required

Additional Information
This role follows a night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 12-hour rotation, with scheduling organized in 6-week cycles. The position includes every third weekend coverage and an alternating holiday schedule to support consistent patient care coverage.
