Job Summary Homeland has partnered with a respected and dynamic healthcare system to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation in beautiful Hickory, NC. The Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation will provide patient-centered care in an inpatient rehab setting, supporting recovery and helping patients regain independence following illness or injury.
In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation will manage the clinical needs of a diverse post-acute population while encouraging active participation in therapy and progress toward individualized goals. This opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse (RN) with strong clinical judgment who enjoys hands-on care and thrives in a collaborative environment. You’ll work closely with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, monitor patient progress, and drive the best possible outcomes throughout the rehabilitation journey.
Responsibilities
Assess patient condition and identify individualized care needs
Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
Administer medications, perform treatments, and manage clinical interventions
Monitor, document, and communicate patient status to the care team, physicians, and families
Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, hygiene, and nutrition
Coordinate care transitions, including transfers, discharges, and referrals
Educate patients and families on conditions, recovery expectations, and care plans
Ensure accurate documentation and completion of interdisciplinary care plans and quality indicators
Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred, not required)
Current BLS certification required (ACLS may be preferred depending on facility)
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams
Ability to manage both clinical care and high-touch patient interactions
Time management and prioritization in a multi-patient environment
Adaptability in a dynamic rehabilitation setting
Additional Information This position follows a day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with an expectation to arrive approximately 15 minutes early and stay about 15 minutes after shift for report. Scheduling is organized in 6-week cycles, with every third weekend required (two weekends per cycle), an alternating A/B holiday rotation, and opportunities for overtime as needed.
