Job Summary Homeland is partnering with a regional healthcare system to hire an Ultrasound Technologist. The Ultrasound Technologist will perform physician-directed routine and specialized diagnostic ultrasound procedures. The position is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. This role also supports clinical operations through accurate documentation, professional patient interaction, and collaboration with the care team.
Responsibilities
Perform physician-ordered routine and specialized diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice
Collect, document, and communicate relevant clinical history, technical data, and preliminary observations for physician interpretation
Maintain patient safety, comfort, privacy, and dignity throughout all imaging procedures
Educate patients and families on examination processes and provide appropriate pre- and post-procedure instructions
Accurately complete patient records, reports, and required documentation in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements
Operate ultrasound equipment proficiently, ensuring optimal image acquisition, quality assurance, and adherence to equipment performance standards
Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and sterile technique as required by exam type and clinical setting
Support efficient patient flow and coordination within the department to ensure timely service delivery
Assist with routine equipment care, supply management, and maintenance of imaging work areas
Collaborate effectively with physicians, technologists, nurses, and support staff to support high-quality clinical operations
Ensure accurate charge capture, inventory control, and vendor ordering in accordance with departmental procedures
Manage assigned examinations independently from order receipt through image acquisition and preparation for physician interpretation
Demonstrate age-specific competency in providing care to patients across the lifespan
Participate in continuing education, in-services, and professional development activities to maintain clinical competency
Assist with daily workflow distribution and contribute to overall departmental efficiency
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Education that meets eligibility requirements for professional licensure and diagnostic ultrasound certification
OB/GYN anatomy ultrasound experience is required
Meets all prerequisites to sit for the ARDMS certification examination
ARDMS registration required within 180 days of hire
Current CPR certification required
Additional Information This is a full-time, day shift position with typical hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
